Akasha Yoga School is founded on authenticity, inspiration, intelligence, sensitivity and sacredness. We inspire a holistic view of the practice and teaching of yoga.  We recognize the study of Yoga to engage the precepts of Mind, Body, Spirit and the union and communion among them.  From this base of interconnectedness and meaning our school celebrates and supports our students’ growth in authenticity, empowerment, equilibrium, in forming community and in developing their skill-set as a teacher, student, and an awakened participant and leader in the greater whole.

UPCOMING:   Dream Yoga Immersion

June 10-19, 2019 Toumba, Lesbos, Greece

This immersion is a unique opportunity to delve deeply into our consciousness through asana practice, dream yoga, meditation, shamanic journeying, and ceremony as well as through outreach work with encamped migrant populations (optional).  There is an inherent connection between our inner reality, the working of our identity, and the outer reality we experience and participate in.  Based on the inter-connectedness of all life, if we refine and release blocking patterns in our consciousness that separate and isolate us from the web of life, our best-expressed nature and our experience of life, we can effectively reunite our consciousness with the whole web of life, and repair the identity we are working with in a way that allows us to best activate and share our gifts with those around us.  Through a variety of consciousness attuning practices we will use these methodologies to dive into this deeply personal (yet cosmic) work in an intimate and supported environment, both from within our circle and the gentle and majestic land that will hold our process.  Much of our practice time will be out-of-doors.  Lead teacher and facilitator is Rev. Anthe Kelley, E-RYT, Reiki Master/Teacher, Ordained Minister of Her Walking Prayer, MA, Eastern Classics.  We will also have some local islanders assisting with various aspects related to the infrastructure of our program.

This intensive counts toward 35 hours toward the registered 200-hour Akasha Yoga School training with Yoga Alliance, or toward 35 hours of continuing education credits through YACEP (Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider).

Tuition, fees, room and board:  $1,700     This includes an optional ride from Mytilene Airport.  (Airfare is NOT included.  We've had success finding lower airfares with justfly.com, if you are looking for a recommendation.)

Meet Anthe.

Rev. Anthe, aka Kunga Tsomo and Desert Flower, is enormously honored to devote her teaching to Akasha Yoga School, to the students drawn to this program, and to the path of yoga, teaching, spiritual practice and growing in authenticity.  As the founder of Akasha Yoga School and Healing Arts, and Blossoming Heart Ministry, Anthe has devoted her life work to creating outlets for people to explore the sanctity of their inner-being and to provide the space, openness and guidance to give permission to others to venture deep into this journey within and to quicken their awakened state of connectedness with the whole web of life.

Anthe is honored to welcome a powerful group of teachers to share in the 200-hour Akasha Yoga Teacher Training program, many of whom were inspirational teachers in her path of growing as a student, teacher, and human being. She values the diversity and fluidity of viewpoints and approaches, and cherishes the thread that connects them all. To Anthe yoga asana becomes a form of embodied movement which may be expressed through any number of means but ultimately it is one performed with devotion, awareness, fluid identity and connected sanctity.

Anthe views her role as Lead Teacher at Akasha Yoga School as one where she serves openly as a steward for others’ processes, inviting them to grow in the ways that are most empowering for them according to their individual natures; to provide everyone, alike, with a solid base and form for teaching a meaningful, intelligent, embodied vinyasa class with confidence and purpose; and to open many doorways of possibility to support the continuing exploration of self-study, potentiality and inspired learning and being.

Also, as an Ordained Minister of Her Walking Prayer Rev. Anthe resonates with being a "Devotee of the Mother."  She acknowledges herself as a perennial student and sees this process of Evolution as a multi-dimensional school.  "I feel so blessed to participate in this Earth school with its great challenges and even greater Beauty and Blessings.

I subscribe to the view that all life and truth can be found within ourselves, and our "higher power" dwells here-- within.  At the same time I view the small "we" as expressions of an infinitely great life force and source, and in turn see our job as "simply" being a vehicle for this source.  We are allies of Life, and our job IS to protect and sustain and nourish this inner light that Life breathes through us and entrusts us to shine.  I see this as our calling.

Each one of us possesses a special Medicine, a healing gift that we give to others.  What we really need to do, and give each other permission to do, is to be ourselves.  Our true selves.  There is no special "task" or program (though our "selves" may subscribe to many programs and undergo many tasks) but in its simplest form, we are called simply to be who we are.  (And that is the challenge!)

I pray that every step is one taken in conscious surrender, honor, beauty, grace and courage.  And I pray that each honors the sacredness of the life within and without in its blazing beauty and abundance."

With her Reiki, healing and Ministry work Anthe embraces you in a spirit of openness, acceptance, genuineness and support.  She views her role and service as one of collaboration with you on your individual path of healing, transition and transformation.  Together we will surrender to life's unfolding and blossoming and find the truth that comes with trust:

“The only way is through."

Anthe founded the greater silence corporation (a 501c3 organization) and Akasha Studio in 2010, Akasha Yoga School in 2014, and the school's Santa Fe healing arts studio in 2016.  Anthe has trained intensively in Power Yoga, Dream Yoga with the World Shamanic Yoga Institute, Mangalam Yantra Yoga with Lama Migmar of the Sakya Center and lineage, is presently training in Prana Danda Vinyasa with Demetri Velisarius among other modalities. She is a Reiki Master/Teacher and an Ordained Minister through the Center for Sacred Studies, as well as an M.A., in Eastern Classics from St. John's College, Santa Fe, NM.  She inherited the directorship of International Karma Yoga Day, an annual international event she continues to steward and honor. She is grateful to Demetri Velisarius, Russ Hazard, Lama Migmar, Jyoti, the International Council of the Thirteen Indigenous Grandmothers, Amaru Cosco, her family, biological and spiritual, Aenaon, Adara and Ailan and all her friends, teachers, allies, and mentors, seen and unseen.

Trust the Process.

We begin with a measure of "undoing" and "unlearning" and as such we start to investigate and strip away habitual patterns that might be impeding our more evolved expressions of body, mind, emotion and spirit.  In this way you may find yourself guided to realms, unbounded, but you will always have the scaffolding of support, compassion and solidarity.  Our circle and its integrity is an inherent part of our process. As we deepen our journey along the spiral we build our learning and teaching practice from the ground up so that we optimize our awareness and autonomy and honor them as integral to our journey of becoming genuine teachers and yogis.

We begin and end as a circle.

Graduates of our Teacher Training Program:

•will be able to teach a high-quality, conscientiously and individually crafted vinyasa class with confidence and sensitivity.

•will appreciate and effectively integrate complementary yoga practices, postures and styles as effective medicine in yoga teaching and in the crafting of classes.

•will develop and recognize their Authentic Voice as an essential teaching and healing tool both in their teaching practice and life.

•will recognize the connective thread between all the earth-based traditions and pre-religious, pre-historical cultures and to be aware of this unitive thread reflected in the roots of all Yoga Practices, and will be able to more deeply understand these ancient practices and their timeless applications.

•will acknowledge and apply the principle of “all things being connected”, “Reciprocity” and “Sacred Relation”, and will find the strength and support to live this out in their own lifestyle, personal and spiritual practice, and teaching.
